Exploring the Future of Human–AI Collaboration in System Dynamics
Emergent Modeling Intelligence (EMI) is an evolving framework developed by the MIT Alumni System Dynamics Group to explore how human reasoning, scientific knowledge, System Dynamics methodology, and artificial intelligence interact to advance modeling, simulation, and decision-making.
Through interactive workshops, technical demonstrations, and faculty-led discussions, the EMI series brings together researchers, practitioners, industry experts, and the broader systems community to examine emerging technologies, their capabilities, limitations, and practical applications.
More than a workshop series, EMI is an opportunity to question, experiment, collaborate, and learn. Each event encourages participants to explore how computational intelligence can complement human expertise while maintaining scientific rigor, transparency, and critical evaluation.

Learning Objective
Participants will explore how human reasoning, System Dynamics methodology, and artificial intelligence can work together to understand complex systems, examine feedback relationships, and evaluate potential decisions.
Through interactive modeling and discussion, participants may develop a deeper appreciation of AI-assisted modeling, its opportunities and limitations, and the importance of critical thinking, transparency, and human judgment.
